To mark the launch of Earth Rising: Messages from the Pale Blue Dot Volume II (release date: 24 September 2026), Artangel is holding two performances with Volume II artists this autumn.
For the second performance, Nitin Sawhney presents a new work unlike any he has created before. Staged in Hackney's Round Chapel, it invites audiences into an unusually close encounter with one of Britain's most distinctive creative voices.
Accompanied by Aref Durvesh (tabla and dholak), Eos Counsell (violin), Shapla Salique (vocals), Ashwin Srinivasan (bansuri flute & vocals), YVA (vocals) plus a string sextet, Nitin Sawhney will present the title piece and then develop the evening's performance with improvised spoken word and further musical performances from his extensive catalogue.
