Natural Henna Tattoos with Samina Hussain
Sat 3 Aug 2024 11:00 - 12:30
Croydon Central Library, Croydon Clocktower, CR0 1NX
Description
This is a free drop-in session. There is no need to book!
Join record breaking henna artist Samina Hussain for a morning of natural henna tattoos. Henna is a dye prepared from the plant Lawsonia inermis, also known as the henna tree. The henna leaves are crushed into a powder and mixed with other natural ingredients such as water, lemon juice, sugar, rose water, and (sometimes) essential oil to create the henna paste. This is applied to the skin to create a temporary stain (tattoo) which can last up to 2-3 weeks if you look after the tattoo properly.
As a part of the public programme of events for Come As You Are by Hetain Patel, we will be hosting a series of hobbyist-led workshops, talks, and drop-in sessions for children and adults alike.
This event takes place on 10 August 2024, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
The Croydon Clocktower is fully accessible. Find out more here.
